Detailed Description of Biological Pharmacology

General Idea

- Pharmacology is the study on how the human body (any living organism) that reacts/interacts with certian chemicals and/or Drugs - There are many subjectsthat Pharmacology touch on, these include the Folowing: - neurology - Toxicology - Pharmacy (profession) - Strengths that are needed to help better understand Pharmacology include: - Biology - Cellular Biology - BioChemistry - Chemistry - Human Anatomy, and Physiology - Animal Anatomy, and physiology (if working with animals) - Pharmacology is generally devided into 2 subjects/areas/studies. - Pharmacodynamics - This field incovles pharamcolgy with a biological view. Basiclly restating the idea on how drugs/chemicals effect a living organism - Pharmacokientics - This kind of Pharmacology these drugs/chemicals are being absorbed, excreted and distributed. - Three main ideas are needed to better understand pharmacology - The use of Drugs in Medicine - To understand how these chemicals affect the enviormental chemicals, on a biological level - How certian drugs and chemicals, are absorbed by the organism's cells
